About intelecho

A phone call. With a little help.

intelecho connects two people who don’t share a language on a real phone call. Each of you speaks your own language and hears the other in yours.

01 · How it works

Three steps, no app.

01

Choose languagesPick yours and theirs, then enter both numbers.

02

Pick up your phoneWe call you first, then ring the other person.

03

Talk naturallyEach of you hears the other in your own language.

Twilio connects the phones. OpenAI translates speech in both directions, so each person hears the other in their selected language. Both people hear a short introduction explaining the service before you’re connected.

Tips for a good first call

Use short, clear phrases. Take turns and wait for each translation to finish. Both people hear an introduction explaining the service before connecting.

This is an AI demo, so expect some delay and occasional mistakes. Only call someone who has agreed to try it with you.

02 · Models

Choose your interpreter.

STANDARD

GPT-Live 1

More languages and voice control.

  • All 46 language options
  • Male or female translated voices
  • European & Brazilian Portuguese
EXPERIMENTAL

GPT-Realtime-Translate

Built for continuous, low-latency translation.

  • 12 languages in this demo
  • Voice adapts automatically
  • No voice or accent controls

We show model choices only when both support your languages. Otherwise, we choose GPT-Live 1. With either model, expect a little delay and take turns.

03 · For business

Need longer calls?

Calls in this free demo end after 5 minutes, and up to three can run at once. If you’d like to use intelecho for your business, with longer calls, more volume, or your own setup, I’m happy to work with you.

Property managers, clinics, service teams, anyone who talks with customers in another language: tell me what you need.

04 · The builder

Hi, I’m Colin.

I’m Colin Gillingham. I’ve worked in tech for nearly 20 years, and I’m a lifelong technology tinkerer.

Why I built intelecho

The idea came from a friend who manages real estate and doesn’t always speak the same languages as his tenants. Live interpreters can help, but bringing a human into every call can get expensive. I wondered whether AI could make those everyday conversations easier.

Thanks for trying it.— Colin
